Acid washing is the job this group generates most, with equipment replacement close behind. The area runs from Gladesville along the Victoria Road spine out to the peninsula between the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers, taking in Hunters Hill, Woolwich and Henley. Hunters Hill Council covers Hunters Hill and Woolwich. Gladesville and Henley sit near a council boundary, so it is worth checking which one you are actually in before lodging anything with a council.

Older pools are common here, and a lot of the concrete, pebblecrete and marbelite surfaces around the heritage streets have been in the ground long enough that no amount of brushing will bring the finish back. That is an acid wash conversation, not a chemistry one. Separately, the closer a property is to open water, the harder salt air is on the equipment. Heater casings, pump housings, salt cells and handrails all wear faster on the exposed streets than they do a few hundred metres inland.

That is a tendency, not a rule. Plenty of pools in this area are recent fibreglass installs with equipment barely out of warranty, and much of Gladesville sits far enough back from the water that salt exposure is a non-issue. Andy works out which case you are before recommending anything.
