Pool servicing in Naremburn

Narrow courtyard pool part way through a service, with brick paver coping, glass fencing and the vacuum hose on the edge

Equipment installation, green pool recovery and acid washing in Naremburn. Courtyard and plunge pools with the plant squeezed in beside them, so access and noise get checked first.

Courtyard and plunge pools are the Naremburn norm, and that changes what the work looks like. Much of the housing is early-1900s workers' cottages and semis on small blocks, with narrow streets and rear-lane access in parts, so a lot of the pools were fitted into the space a small backyard allows rather than the space a pool would ideally want. Equipment installation, green pool recovery and acid washing, all quoted before anything starts.

Small pools are not less work, they are different work. Water volume is low, which means chemistry swings faster and a problem shows up within days rather than weeks. Equipment usually ends up in a side passage or against a boundary fence, so getting a replacement unit in is a real constraint on what is practical, and noise matters far more when the neighbour's bedroom window is a few metres away. Andy checks the access route and the plant position on the quote instead of finding out on installation day.

★★★★★

Andrew has been servicing our pool for about seven months and we are extremely impressed with the quality of work. Andrew is reliable, professional, and always takes the time to explain any issues or recommendations. On his first visit he even fixed our broken filter pump free of charge, which was not straightforward and involved him having to locate a hard-to-find spare part across the other side of Sydney. The pool has consistently been kept in excellent condition, with great attention to detail and proactive maintenance. I would highly recommend Andrew to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and trustworthy pool professional.

Pool questions from Naremburn

Is a plunge pool cheaper to maintain than a full-size pool?
Slightly, mostly on chemical volume, but not as much as people expect. The low water volume means chemistry moves faster and imbalance shows up sooner, so the visit frequency often ends up similar. What does change is the cost of each correction, which is smaller.
The pool equipment is right against my neighbour's fence. Can it be made quieter?
Usually yes, and it is one of the more satisfying fixes. A variable-speed pump running at a lower speed for longer is dramatically quieter than a single-speed unit, and an acoustic enclosure takes off more again. Both also cut running costs, so the noise fix pays for part of itself.
Can Andy get equipment into a narrow side passage?
Most of the time, and where he cannot, that is worth knowing before you have paid for a unit. Andy walks the access route as part of the quote, so the equipment recommended is equipment that will physically get to the plant position.
