Does the bushland nearby actually change what my pool needs?

On the blocks with canopy over the water it does, mostly through leaf load in autumn: more skimming, a filter cleaned more often, and organic matter that stains a surface if it sits. How do I know whether the surface needs an acid wash or just a clean?

If brushing and a shock treatment lift it, it was staining on top of the surface. If the mark is still there afterwards, it has gone into the surface itself, and that is what acid washing is for. Andy will look before quoting rather than guessing from a photo.
