Pool servicing in Wollstonecraft

Dark green pool water with leaf debris floating on the surface, brick paver coping and glass fencing around it

Green pool recovery, acid washing and equipment installation in Wollstonecraft. Bush-edge blocks put a steady organic load into a pool, and it ends up on the surface.

Green pool recovery and acid washing are what Wollstonecraft generates most, and the bush edge is why. Blocks backing onto the reserves tend to be larger and greener than the streets near the station, where the housing shifts toward apartments, and the suburb has bushland on much of its edge: Berry Island and Balls Head to the south, Smoothey Park and Gore Cove to the west.

Leaf and organic litter fill skimmer baskets, restrict flow, and once it settles and starts breaking down it consumes chlorine and stains the surface. A pool that is fine in December can be well over by the end of a leaf-heavy autumn. The properties down toward Gore Cove pick up some salt exposure on top of that, which is harder on heater casings and exposed metal fittings than it is a few streets back. Neither applies to every address here.

★★★★★

Andy has been servicing my pool for about 6 months now and has done an amazing job. He is incredibly knowledgeable and reasonable priced. He helped me troubleshoot problems and offered a variety of pricing options for a new pump with really valuable advice on what the different levels would offer me. The pool looks sparkling after he has visited. I couldn’t be more impressed with the job he does - a vast improvement on any previous pool servicers we have had.

Pool questions from Wollstonecraft

My pool backs onto bushland. How often does it need servicing?
More often than a pool in an open yard, and how much more depends on what is actually overhanging it. Dense evergreen canopy sheds all year and needs a tighter interval than a couple of deciduous trees. Andy looks at the yard before setting a schedule rather than quoting a default.
Is a cover worth it on a bush-edge pool?
Yes, particularly through autumn. It keeps most of what falls out of the water, and it also cuts evaporation and heating costs. It will not stop what blows in around the edges or what is already on the floor, so it reduces the servicing load rather than replacing it.
Does being near Gore Cove affect pool equipment?
On the properties closest to the water it does, mostly through salt in the air wearing heater casings, pump housings and exposed metal fittings faster. Further up the hill it makes little difference. Siting the plant out of direct spray and rinsing it down occasionally is the practical response.
