Pool servicing in Riverview

Pool with dark green water and leaf debris floating on the surface, before recovery

Green pool recovery, acid washing and pressure testing in Riverview. Plenty of blocks here back onto bush, and the organic load shows up on the surface within a few years.

Green pool recovery and acid washing are the two jobs Riverview generates most, and both come from the same source. A good number of blocks here either back onto bushland or sit under mature street trees, which puts a steady organic load into any pool that is not covered. The suburb sits between Tambourine Bay Road and the Lane Cove River, wrapped around the grounds of St Ignatius' College, and it is one of the greener parts of the Lane Cove Council area.

That shows up in two ways. Skimmer and pump baskets fill faster than the manual assumes, and organic staining builds on the surface over the years even when the water itself has been kept right. The second one is why acid washing comes up as often as it does around here, particularly on older pebblecrete and concrete pools. It is not universal though. The more open blocks in Riverview behave like any other pool, and plenty of properties here have modern equipment that handles the load without complaint.

★★★★★

Andy has been servicing my pool for about 6 months now and has done an amazing job. He is incredibly knowledgeable and reasonable priced. He helped me troubleshoot problems and offered a variety of pricing options for a new pump with really valuable advice on what the different levels would offer me. The pool looks sparkling after he has visited. I couldn’t be more impressed with the job he does - a vast improvement on any previous pool servicers we have had.

Pool questions from Riverview

Can staining from years of leaves be removed without resurfacing?
In most cases yes. An acid wash takes off the stained top layer of the existing surface and brings the finish back close to new, at a fraction of the cost of resurfacing. Whether it is the right call depends on the condition of the surface underneath, which Andy checks before quoting.
Should I be emptying the skimmer basket myself between visits?
On a block with a lot of canopy it genuinely helps, because a full basket starves the pump and that is where a lot of equipment damage starts. It takes a minute and Andy is happy to show you what to look for. It does not replace a service visit, but it stops small problems becoming expensive ones.
Do tree roots damage pool pipework?
They can, particularly around older pipe runs under established gardens. The usual first sign is water loss with no visible cause. Rather than guessing, a pressure test isolates each line and shows exactly where the fault is, which keeps any excavation to the smallest possible patch.
