Acid washing and equipment installation are the two jobs that come up most in Greenwich, and both trace back to age. The peninsula between Gore Cove and the Lane Cove River holds some of the oldest housing in the Lane Cove Council area, and a fair share of the pools reflect that: concrete and pebblecrete surfaces that have been in the ground a long time, and equipment on its second or third replacement.

Two conditions come up often enough here to be worth planning around. On the streets that fall steeply toward the water, getting equipment to the plant room is a genuine constraint on what is practical. And on the properties closest to open water, salt in the air is hard on heater casings, pump housings and any exposed metal fitting. Both are worth checking, neither is true of the whole suburb. Plenty of Greenwich is level, well back from the water, and no different to service than anywhere else.
